For the ultimate first night hideaway, the Woodland Lodges at Forbes of Kingennie are a home away from home, offering four star comforts and total seclusion. Neighboring some of Scotland’s most famous trout and coarse fishing waters, there are ten lodges in all, nestled in the woodland. The most romantic is the lavishly and lovingly restored Leannan Boathouse. Built in 1855, the Leannan Boathouse offers luxurious accommodation and a dreamy location at the water’s edge. Balconies lead off the lounge and bathroom with views across the water and surrounding woodlands while the interior is designed to blend the traditional with the ultra modern. Stone walls in the lounge and an open fireplace contrast with a plasma screen TV and sate-of-the-art music system which can be controlled in each room including the bedroom with its en suite Jacuzzi bathroom. The Boathouse also has a fully equipped kitchen, while home baking and dishes using local produce are served in the Waterside cafe in the main house at Forbes of Kingennie.
